What is Faceparty?
Faceparty was the UK’s biggest Social Networking Site (although they don’t like it being called that). In its prime it was an awesome place which I made many new friends through. Probably the best “party” or “social networking” site I’ve ever been a member of, until I was removed.
What happened?
In 2008 the company that owned the site CIS Internet was facing bankruptcy and sold it to a new company Anarchy Towers Ltd. We were lead to believe the site was sold on a per-profile basis and not all profiles were purchased. A huge 7 million profiles were deleted. This coincided with new Child Protection Laws which required Social Network sites to verify email addresses so they could be checked against a Sex Offenders list. Which Faceparty had never done..
So in conclusion.. Its never been 100% clear what happened, but the site has unfortunately only ever limped on since. I eagerly await the day Registrations are reopened so I can rejoin =D
Alternatives
There are a number of alternative sites you can use instead of Faceparty:
Faceparty Password
At the point of the site being acquired in 2008 the site had become over run with affiliate spammers who were promoting porn websites. FaceParty’s new owners implemented an invite only system which mean’t one of the remaing 200,000 users had to invite you.
I actually managed to get a password a couple of times, however for some reason my accounts were both removed at later dates. No idea why?
If you would like to offer an invite or are looking for an alternative I hope my article as helped!

Finally got a new Faceparty account, the password is easy to find just Google it. My partner didn’t lose his so I could have just got him to invite me, but I never seemed to get it working?
I think maybe my e-mail got banned because of my tutorial on viewing private content? who knows

Finally cracked it, Saw this hidden on the Faceparty FAQ.
You Txt: PAYA 1440
to 60999They then send you this weeks password. Only cost like 50p.

good god all of you stop going after faceparty, its a heap load of shite now its changed. you have to pay £25 to get a password and then you can still be kicked out for no reason (READ THE T&C’s @ http://www.faceparty.com) personally i wouldn’t touch them with a 10 ft barge pole so save yourselves £25 and go buy a nice hot meal.

For the faceparty password Text PASSWORD to 88500 it costs £25 to join, you can also get the password through paypal.
If you aren’t a twat there will be no reason for them to ban you. I’ve been on the site years and it is still the best thing ever.
I have met so many wonderful friends and have had experiences I wouldn’t have had without faceparty.
To me the £25 is well worth it, but that is only my opinion.

£25 is rediculous for a password! i’d understand if it was under a tenna. to be honest reading the front page dosn’t make me wanna be a member nor does it give faceparty a good name.

Haha! If that isn’t a shameless plug, I don’t know what is! £25, that’s outrageous! Something tells me you’re in dire need of money. As Dave above said, its not the place it used to be. The peak years were 2003-2007. There are a minority of some good people left over from the 2008 cull but the majority of members seem to be chavs that think the world owes them something. Save your money folks. Plenty of other free sites out there.

Fortunatly for me, I actually know what the site is about, and ‘dire need of money’ not really, although, the rumours are good, aren’t they, creates attention, doesn’t it?
Oh the party in April was a blast, I wonder when the next one will be.

£25 is totally worth it people.
Just don’t go to the pub one Friday night and join faceparty instead, simple.
When the next party comes around, you’ll have the best night of your life. Tonnes of entertainment that you couldn’t imagine which is basically priceless and as much alcohol as you can handle for FREE. They might even pay for your transport like they did for the one they held in December. They paid for people to come all the way from countries such as America and Greece! No other social networking-ish site on the web would do any of that for their members!
Not to mention that their forum (“gossip”) is the most fun board I have found to be a part of on the whole of the web.
Up to you whether you join or not, but faceparty has totally enriched my life, so just thought I’d let others know that it is more than worth it.

the £25 for the password is real
they are individual passwords sent out to those numbers and can only be used oncetext PASSWORD to 88500
cost £25every bit of money that doesn’t get spent on the site gets saved for parties and gives you a free night out (minus your travel and, if your hotelling, the accomodation too.
In my opinion it is completely worth paying the £25 because these parties are amazing, and you wont want to take anyone with you because everyone there is so friendly and amazing you’ll make mates for life.
if you aren’t a knob on the site you wont get banned but if your inactive for a perod you may find that your profile will be removed.
seriously stop bitching pay the £25 and come to a party besides the cat needs food

£25 cannot be worth it when adults can use facebook free and there is Bebo etc for the younger people
It was good while it lasted but it died when all my friends were removed from it.

I’ve joined Faceparty since 2001. And I’m still a remain user ever since. It has changed a lot but I’m quite chuffed about it. Old men seeking for young lovers and webcam girls and spammers have been removed. The members there are younger and more quality. I’ve had great time and have made a lot of amazing mates in real life from Faceparty.
You’re right thought that its peak years were gone. Back then it was the Very first social networking website ever. It’s unlike Facebook that you use to keep in touch with people you’re already friends with. Faceparty is more like for meeting new people. It’s different.

Faceparty is still full of Bots and Cam girls. The owners of Faceparty have no clue what they are doing. They have a web developer (i’m guessing just from school) and a phoneline. They are acting illegally and are currently under investigation from many companies. My advice to you would be to NOT msg for a password as the site will be closed eventually.

Please, whatever you do, don’t pay the £25. Sometimes things can be hidden and rip-offs are hard to spot, but this is so obviously a rip-off, anyone stupid enough to pay £25 to someone they don’t know, for a chance of a password, to a site that is just about finished, deserves all they don’t get!

It wouldn’t have even been worth £25 in it’s heyday, and Faceparty has long since past it’s heyday. It’s in the twighlight years, I give it another year.
Anyone who pays £25 for the password should not be allowed to go out on their own! And should certainly not have acess to a bank account.
£25 is a joke, surely they missed the “.” between the 2 and the 5. even then, it wouldn’t be worth it. Faceparty died in 2008.

Faceparty was always excellent when i used to go on it and thought a one off £25 was worth but seems i have been stung by a scam as above, i have got two texts saying password will come shortley and the other one.

I used to be on Faceparty, but deleted all my details. It really is full of the most illiterate idiots this country has to offer. The people on the site actually brag about the fact they don’t read.
Many profiles have a stupid comment of’yeah, i like read innit’ next to favourite book or author. And the amount of txt speak language is ridiculous. All this u and m8s bollocks. Honestly, anyone who does not have a password is well out of it.

When i was on this site back in it’s hey day of 2004 – 2005 it wasn’t worth £25. It was good, don’t get me wrong but a chatroom is never THAT good you’d rush out and send £25. Most of the people there are thick, yes there are some hot guys, but christ, if someone is hard to talk to on the net imagine what they are like in real life!
A lot of the people are just posers, cam whores and thicko chavs. If you got bored of facebook within a week, don’t think about faceparty.
I agree with snifty productions, Paul, you DO need a life. If it’s so enriching why are you googling the word ‘faceparty’?

Have to say I’d completely forgotten about faceparty but randomly remembered tonight… Anyway logged on tonight and saw the ‘new look’ and the ‘terms and conditions’. Being a solicitor I use that term loosely. Anyway I went to log in and got the message asking if I agreed to the new terms. In my line of work I know that it’s not legal for them to deny your rights even if you have ticked a box to say you’ve agreed say I ticked the box to say I don’t agree. Unsuprisingly my account has been deleted. No mention of what has happened to my personal information they were storing etc. I’ve contacted the Law Society as to who to report this apparent breach of my rights. Very un-anarchial of me I guess and probably considered boring to the members that have bothered to remain. It’s a shame because I used to love faceparty when I was at uni… But it seems I’m better of out of it

Hah, you fools that keep moaning. If you hate it SO much; forget it, don’t use it and don’t moan about it: simple. I like it although it’s gone downhill recently; I’ve got them and the users to thank for many things that I shall never forget; it’s changed my life in a great way and taught me many valuable lessons. As the site does clearly say; it is not for everyone, so if you hate it then it obviously isn’t designed for you.

I got back on faceparty, no new password required. Though I was an original member, but couldn’t access the site for a while. It certainly ain’t what it was, with a ludicrous amount of stunning ‘girls’ who for some reason are only interested in talking to other ‘girls’ about threesomes with their “boyfriend.” Apart from that too many people wedged up their own arses, eg. 24-year old girls threatening to report you if a guy over 25 sends them a message.. and the usual ‘gym bunnies’ showing off their six packs but desperate enough to message 100 random girls per night! Would be interested in that private content tutorial though..

It strikes me as incredible to moan about £25?
Perhaps before you slag off this requirement you should actually find out what the £25 gets you.
Faceparty do events now. They run whole, huge, massive parties.
These events have had up to 3000 guests. They are HUGE, and absolutely amazing.
By signing up, and paying your £25, you have a good chance (if you use the site properly) of getting invited to these events.
The events are free. Free entry. Free alcohol.
I don’t know about you, but £25 for a completely otherwise free night out sounds like a good deal to me? Not only that, but they’re not normal nights out…they’re absolutely massive and amazing.
I’ve never had a better night out in my life then at a Faceparty event and if you don’t think that’s worth the same amount of money most people spend on the average night anyway then that’s your loss.

I too got kicked off it a while back for doing nothing wrong,and have since found many other sites you don’t need to pay for.Try mocospace..itsmy.com..or peperonity for sites where you can chat for nothing at all.

I was a member of faceparty til they sold out to anachy towers, i’d never pay £25 to use a free site so i use facebook now, i had plenty of fun on faceparty and met plenty of good people which are still members BUT i refuse to pay £25 to use any site when there are plenty of free sites such as facebook, bebo and so on. So until faceparty is free again they can shove thier site where the sun don’t shine.

I will be creating a FREE rival to Faceparty – it will be quite similar, but will have some ads (it’s always going to be free so it will have ads!). I will not be deleting people because they slag off the site (but I would prefer constructive critism!) or because they are over 30! I will not sell off the site (unless I’m offered millions!
). It will be ready in 2010.I am also setting up a cycling forum which has it’s own bike! There will be the occasional competition where if you see the bike anywhere, you take a photo and submit it to me (the owner) as proof. The photos will be drawn at randowm and one winner will win something!

I was a paying member of Faceparty and tried to call them to cancel my membership and monthly payment. Could not get anyone to answer the phone so called my bank only to find that Faceparty use recurring direct debits which means, no mater how strongly you insist your bank cannot cancel the DDM!!
Lloys TSB tried to phone and could not get through, how I just hope one day I find the person who keeps taking £8.95 every month from my bank account.
