My interest in computers began at the age of Five when I got my Commodore Amiga something or other. At that early age I use to enjoying drawing, playing games etc. This of course wasn’t really mainstream!
Several years later, I managed to get my hands on my Uncle’s old 386, I remember it like it was yesterday! It was extremely heavy, running at 11Mhz with a turbo button that increased the speed to 33Mhz. A few 100mb of hard disk space and 16mb memory. I spent hours messing around getting to grips with a proper operating system, Windows 3.1 and using MS-DOS. The knowledge I started to build by frequently breaking it built the foundation of what I know today.
I finally persuaded my Grandparents to buy me an up to date PC that came with Windows 98 and Dial Up Internet Access. I began playing on the MSN Gaming Zone, became a Sysop/moderator this inspired me to start learning some Visual Basic to write nasty little programs to flood chat rooms and various other things.
I then decided to release the applications I was writing that led into learning HTML, etc whilst going through Secondary School.
Whilst at College, instead of taking a weekend job like most of my fellow Students, I spent my time building sites and maintaining computer systems at the local Timeshare company. Here I gained invaluable Sales/Marketing knowledge. The money was also much better!
Whilst doing this I managed to establish some websites that earned a regular income.
Upon completing college, I finished with the timeshare company and moved on to work for Nexus Open Software Ltd, who have assisted me in building a big portfolio of reputable sites, as well as continuing to do some Marketing for a handful of clients I picked up along the way.
My focus is now towards Online Marketing specifically Pay Per Click (PPC) and Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) with a particular interest in online lead generation for local Businesses. I am a serial new idea thinker but prioritise on what I think will be most successful.
